What tests are performed at the Cardiology Clinic?

  • Clinical Examination: The doctor takes the complete personal and family medical history of the patient and performs an examination for any clinical findings that indicate cardiovascular diseases.
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG): Records the electrical activity of the heart to detect arrhythmias or other abnormalities in the cardiac rhythm.
  • Stress Test (Exercise Test): Examines the heart's response to physical exercise, often using a treadmill or cycle, to detect issues that are not visible at rest.
  • 24h Holter Monitoring: This test continuously records the heart rhythm by placing the device on the patient's body for 24 to 48 hours. The Holter monitor detects arrhythmias or other cardiac abnormalities.
  • Transthoracic Echocardiography – Cardiac Triplex: It allows the detection of conditions such as cardiopathy, valvular diseases, and cardiomegaly with absolute accuracy. The procedure is painless and non-invasive, while the results provide valuable information for planning the appropriate treatment.
  • Transthoracic Echocardiography – Thoracic Aorta Triplex: It is a non-invasive diagnostic test that allows the detection of conditions such as aortic dilation, thoracic aortic aneurysm, dissection of the ascending and descending thoracic aorta, aortic isthmus stenosis, and patent ductus arteriosus (Botallo's duct).

At the Cardiology Clinic of Mediterraneo First Care Paros, all of the above tests are performed on a regular basis, however, emergency cardiology cases are also assessed.
